A Hard Day’s Night Live at The Turks Head 27th April

We are really excited and looking forward very much to performing at this historic event, celebrating fifty years since the album “A Hard Days Night” was released, at The Turks Head pub Twickenham (scene from the film of Ringo’s walk), and joining forces with other great tribute acts. Knowing how much time and effort is involved we would like to say a special “thank you” to Dan from “The Apple Core Beatles”, “Beatles Day” and “The British Beatles Fan Club”. The day’s celebrations kick off at 11am and run right the way through till 11pm. Please come and support and enjoy a whole day of great music, activities, entertainment and special guests. The Dung Beatles will start around 8pm. http://www.theapplecorebeatles.com/livefestival.htmat

Missenden Abbey Gig Raises £2,800 for Charity!!!

March 29 2014 The Dung Beatles rock Missenden Abbey!

What a great night playing in support of the Thomas Ball Children’s Cancer Fund. Over 120 guests danced and sang the night away with the DBs at Buckinghamshire’s historic Missenden Abbey. The dance floor was filled from the first song to the last, culminating in a rousing rendition of Hey Jude! Elaine Ball from the charity said:-

“We would like to say a huge thank you to the Dung Beatles for putting on such a great night for us at Missenden Abbey on 29th March. I don’t think there was anybody who didn’t get up and have a dance to the irresistible tunes of the Beatles, performed so brilliantly by the band. All comments from our guests have been positive and in addition to this we raised an incredible £2,800 for our charity that will be used to benefit very sick children who are suffering from cancer. We couldn’t have achieved this without your help and we are very grateful that you chose to support us. Thanks guys, we really appreciate your kindness and can’t wait to hear the Dung Beatles again in the future!

7th & 8th March 2014 at The Limelight Theatre, Queens Park Arts Centre, Aylesbury. Playing to an almost sold out audience on Friday evening and an excellent turnout on Saturday evening, performing around fifty songs over the space of around two and a half hours on both evenings, the DB’s certainly had “A Hard Day’s Night” but, as always, immensely enjoyable. Many thanks to special guests Rob Schafer on keyboards and John Kay with his amazing left handed Sitar!

Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital Trust Charity Gala Saturday 15th Feb

Thanks to Desiree Zimmerman who was instrumental in organising this prestigious event at which TV celebrity Harry Enfield name-checked the The Dung Beatles in his hilarious pre-dinner speech. After the champagne reception, 3-course dinner, charity auction and introduction by CEO Gill Raikes (MBE) The Dung Beatles, with special guest Dr. Rob Schafer on keys, played to dancing revellers till past midnight.

Looking forward to a fab 2014!!!

Never was such a worn out old cliche “time flies when you’re having fun” more  true than for The Dung Beatles during the time since we re-launched our “career” in January last year. In that time the band has performed at over thirty gigs, of which a third were for charitable or local good causes. Things really kicked off last March with a sell out gig at The Limelight Theatre, Queens Park Arts Centre, Aylesbury. Many other highlights followed such as a live broadcast on BBC Three Counties Radio as guests on the Mike Naylor show, an interview and web site video with the Bucks Herald, and a sell out gig at The Waterside “Second Space”. The sheer range of venues proved to be quite mind boggling, from churches (Rebellion Beer and Blues Festival, High Wycombe) to allotments (Elder Stubbs Festival, Oxford). Charities supported included Arts4Every1, British Heart Foundation, Florence Nightingale Hospice, Royal Brompton and Harefield, Elder Stubbs (Restore), and more.

We hope 2014 will be another fab year, celebrating fifty years since the album “A Hard Days Night” was released, featuring some of the most memorable number one hits such as “Can’t Buy Me Love”, “I Feel Fine” and “You Can’t Do That”.

As you can see from our gig list below we already have a number of great gigs planned, including a second appearance at The Limelight Theatre, Aylesbury on 7th and 8th March (see further details below).
